IDK. Maybe I had to immortalize this somewhere. I was feeling introspective and it was nice to see how far the franchise and I have come.

So I'm a Genwunner, I'll say that straight off the bat. I started with the first games, Blue in particular. I remember I wanted Blue because Ninetales was in it and ooh pretty fox pokemon. I was super into anime guys then and I think that's what I ended up naming my pokemon after. And I mean every. Single. Pokemon. I named them all. Even the ones I wasn't going to use on my main team. I'd saved up for my GBC. It was months and months of leaving my allowance behind which wasn't a problem because I brought lunch and grampa used to pick me up and bring me to school. I remember the day I got it, I was short P100 so I borrowed some from a friend and with that, I had my GBC and Pokemon Blue. My starter was Charmander (I forgot what I named him. Probably Hiei.) but I distinctly remember naming my Vaporeon Nakago.

Silver was saved up for too. Now that. That was MY game. I remember being fascinated by the colors (There were colors, man. COLORS.) and Cyndaquil was my starter. Now all my Cyndaquil are named Ember, no matter what the gender. The most distinct memory I have is hiding my GBC under the pillow because I wanted to play even if I was supposed to be studying for finals. And I remember being terribly frustrated over that blasted Miltank. (You lot know which one I'm talking about.) Sadly, I haven't played HGSS. I missed out on that and I'll get to that when I discuss the DS gen Pokes.

When the GBA rolled along, I didn't have enough money for it. I'd just saved up for my GBC and buying a GBA right after was insane. My dad wouldn't get me one because he thought I was getting too old for video games so... I had to resort to piracy. Of course, it wasn't probably until after highschool that I first found the emulator. And Gen III did feel quite different from the first two games. I mean, there were even MORE colors. And the sprites looked just like the pokemon in the anime. I wouldn't say it blew my mind but I did enjoy it. I believe it was Emerald I ended up playing. Norman's team of two Slaking gave me a run for my money. I barely survived with one pokemon on my team. Again, a Fire type. Torchic. But I remember playing it a second time and using Treeko. So I suppose it's only fitting that OmegaRuby had me using Mudkip. But anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself again.

Now when the DS games rolled along, I once again sailed the Piracy seas. My DS had an R4 so getting DP, BW and BW2 was easy. I kinda regret it now since White was where I got my first shiny: A deerling. Sadly, the original savefile is now lost to antiquity... unless it's actually in my backed up savefiles. IDK. DP I never actually finished which is a first for me. I remember my brother doing the electric gym for me and telling me my pokemon were weak and... I just never picked up my file again. Same goes for Black. I don't really recall why I never finished it, actually. Black 2 however was a special case. I didn't download it. I went legit.

So when I ended up getting a job, I realized I now had enough purchasing power to get myself a 3DS and so I did. It was second hand from a good seller and super cheap. Of course, I realized I could now buy DS games and Black 2 came along. At least this one I finished. Unfortunately, the file is as good as useless now since I transported all the pokemon I caught there to XY.

Ah, XY. XY was the first Pokemon game I ever got on launch date. Like everyone, I was excited because they upped everything: the graphics, the system, the battles, the music. EVERYTHING. This was the new standard for pokemon. Against my better judgement, I got Y and ended up begging my friends to trade me a Houndour because I wanted my favorite pokemon with me on my first journey into Hoenn as my dedicated fire type. Thanks to the Wondertrade system and Pokebank, I had the most progress ever of filling the Pokedex. 400 Pokemon and then some.

I'll touch on the rest later. For now, grampa wants the computer.
